What our athletes have to say about projectpr

- When first asking to get some help for a 5K in Feb 2024 never did I imagine joining Project PR would push me to prioritize myself. Running and training gave me independence. Escaping the demands of being a mom and wife 24/7, I got to just be a runner. That 5k turned into many more longer and longer runs pushing myself a bit more each time. I completed my first half marathon Jan 2025. It’s been a year of endless support from coach and the entire team as we’re each on our own journeys

- Since joining ProjectPR in October 2023, I've experienced nothing but growth. With no prior background in endurance sports—coming from a football background—I had never swum in open water, biked for performance, or run more than a mile. But through it all, Manny has been there, guiding me every step of the way as I went from completing a Half Marathon to crossing the finish line of an Ironman. What stands out the most is that, despite the challenges I faced, Manny was always there to lift me up and help me achieve my goals! Excited to cross even more finish lines with this incredible team!

- At 60, I started competing in triathlons. During races, I witnessed athletes coached by Manny excel, while also displaying strong team spirit. This was a team I wanted to join. As a mature-age athlete and back-of-pack racer, I've dealt with injuries related to aging. Manny's coaching has helped me attain impressive achievements, such as qualifying for two 70.3 World Championships in the 65-69 and 75-79 age groups. His training approach is tailored to support athletes of all levels and ages, offering expert guidance.

- Coach Manny has help me excel on the bike and run and worked with me through hip problems and eventual hip replacement. Together we built an understanding of the training and recovery needs of aging athletes and his guidance on hydration, nutrition, and training diet is one of his fortes. I have continued to progress and am very competitive now in the 70-age group. And the team is great fun for all ages.

- When I first joined Project PR, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I weighed 265 lbs, struggling with depression after my mom passed away, and felt lost. I never imagined that I would one day call myself a two-time Ironman finisher. But with the guidance of Coach Manny and the unwavering support of my Project PR teammates, I transformed—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Manny didn’t just coach me; he believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself. He pushed me past my limits, helping me shed not just weight but self-doubt. The Project PR family became my strength, surrounding me with motivation, accountability, and a relentless drive to improve. Today, I’m stronger, more disciplined, and thriving as an athlete and a person. From my first uncertain steps to crossing multiple Ironman finish lines, this journey wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of Manny and Project PR. This team changed my life, and for that, I’m forever grateful.

- As a personal trainer/coach myself, I understand the importance of having the proper guidance to help you reach your goal(s). When I began working with Manny in July 2023 I went complete student mode. I was in unfamiliar territory as I was just getting deeper into endurance training. I had been running for just over a year and was just beginning to swim and bike. What stood out to me about Manny from the start, and even over a year later, was his positivity and even more so his patience. Although I sometimes felt like I was asking questions with obvious answers, he never failed to give a thorough explanation and always took his time to make sure I understood. Manny has been nothing short of an amazing coach. He has created an amazing team with a camaraderie like I’ve never been apart of. I’ve learned so much from him, and my teammates in Project PR, in a short period and can’t wait to share many courses with all of them in the future! Thank you for everything Manny.

- Coach Manny serves as a remarkable source of inspiration, both as a triathlete, personally and in the team he has built. Although I may not be the most accomplished athlete, the experience of crossing my first finish line at Ironman 70.3 Maine alongside him, and the team cheering me on, resonates deeply within me and fills my heart with immense joy. He is truly committed in seeing his athletes succeed. This captures the spirit of Coach Manny and Project PR.

- Back in 2018 I participated in my first IM70.3 (Monterrey, Mexico), but I was not successful. I was the last one out of the water and was disqualified. This affected me deeply, but I knew I had two options: give up or try again. After years of “training” on my own and not seeing positive results, sought the help of a coach and joined Emmanuel Lopez's Project PR training program. Thanks to this, I improved in all 3 disciplines and met people with great motivation. Fast forward to March 2025, I was not only able to become a FINISHER at the IMMTY2025, but smashed my estimated overall time by almost 1.5 hours! .My coach IRONMANNY has been instrumental in my process. Thank you, Coach. I am very grateful for achieving this goal, which allowed me to overcome my limits.

- As a "Sherpa" for members of Project PR, what I admire about Emmanuel Lopez is twofold: his striving for his continued excellence while always having concern for Project PR athletes who are competing in the same race. Example: After finishing his tri and placing 1st in his age group, he found my brother-in-law, Bob Stelzer, to make him aware of his standing in the event and what he needed to do to finish successfully. Same with my sister, Arlene Stelzer, who placed 1st in her age group. I know Manny did this with all of the Project PR team members who were competing. A terrific coach who touches base with each athlete in the same race, giving them the info and especially the encouragement needed. Even though I am a handicapped Sherpa with a mobility impairment, Coach Manny always makes me feel welcomed and a member of the team family when I am around these elite athletes of Project PR.

- Project PR has changed me not only physically but emotionally, my coach has shown me how strong I can be and my team has always been there for support, I’ll always be thankful to Manny and Project PR team for believing in me and my future goals. 🙌🏻

- Project PR isn’t just a training team, it’s a family. I’ve been a part of several global triathlon teams, and they are fun and engaging. But there’s something different in the water at Project PR and that’s the level of support and it’s unlike any other. Coach Manny is thorough, incredibly supportive and holds you accountable. He’s inspiring, as he himself is a world champion triathlete, who is always looking for that extra edge and he pushes you to find yours as well. It’s a true blessing to have found this amazing community to share our fitness goals and dreams with.
